Artery Art Space proudly presents “Still” a solo exhibit by Bitto.

Bitto is a leading contemporary pop artist from Manila blending street art, fashion and design with cosmopolitan narratives and identity. His distinct artistic iconography involves fine contours colored with vibrant hues that embellish the unique personality of his characters. Most popular amongst them is the “Bitto” figure that personifies the ubiquitous observer, the contemporary urban flaneur, as well as the author’s penchant for everyday life and the enigmatic individual. Each event for Bitto lends itself for social insight presented through a whimsical lens keenly fashioned with youthful verve.

For Bitto’s solo exhibit at Artery Art Space, the artist reflects on today’s global uncertainty brought about by climate change and environmental crisis, socio-political conflict, and the shock of the future. He was also inspired by his recent visit to Japan, where Bitto’s aesthetic has an affinity with Japanese Superflat and contemporary graphic design, and most importantly, experiencing the culture’s resilience to natural calamities as engaged by the country’s technological solutions that were definitely something born of science fiction. “Still” as the title of Bitto’s solo exhibit at Artery Art Space, becomes the artist’s statement on today’s troubled times: keep calm in style.
