   Burning for Tomorrow

DENVER GARZA

Creative temperatures rise following visions of the complex self, layered with signs of spiritual fervor: imagined, patterned, ritualized; a craft of discovering and unfolding the mystery within. Rubedo, or redness in the alchemic language of Latin, imbue the works all over heating an intense combination of contrasts: formats deconstructed, formalism deferred, enlightenment in codes; an integration of opposites in the rubedo reaches the successful stage in this creative process as it marks the emergence of a new consciousness, the complete self.

Denver Garza presents a mixed media exhibition of works on paper, paintings, assemblages, and textile crafts, which explore the idea of alchemical fire - the burning desire for transmutation towards the unlocking of the inner mysteries of the self and the creation of the new.

Denver Garza is a multidisciplinary artist with an academic background in Psychology.
