The paintings cover contemporary genres of portraiture and figuration applied with provocative contrasts in beautiful fine detail of the comforts of the familiar against the indeterminate shape of subjective reason. They evoke the austere grandeur of emotions stoic in the face of conformity, while setting the surrounding minimal abstract field into open space replete with immanent vitality for the observer to engage.
