“My cats and my personal struggles in life are my inspiration for my works. My cats are my sanctuary. They are my home.
And my paintings — they tell you different stories of my hardships, of my day to day stuggles in life, of society and how I relate to it, and how I try to overcome them.”
Aya Abad earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Advertising Arts from Far Eastern University in 2014. She first exhibited in 2012 under the name of Wolfe as part of the burgeoning street art scene.
Minimal and minutiae are conditions pushed to the limit in Abad’s paintings that feature architectural space folded and upturned towards infinite possibilities, which for the lone protagonist in her pictures - a charming cat, offers unlimited adventures and amusement within.
